In the last year I've done my share of food reviews about Hardees. There was the Monster Burger, and the Cheese Steak Burger. Even Greensboring's favorite writer Matt got in on it writing about their Bacon & Egg Biscuits. Well I'm about to do it again:

Let me introduce you to Hardee's new concoction of beef on a bun. Weighing in a 58 Grams of Fat and 840 calories, this sandwich covers the nutritional intake for a blue whale. This isn't including the small fries, and soda which I doubt you'll exclude based on the fact that if your going to eat 110mg of cholesterol who really gives a damn at that point?

The sandwich which does have actual Jalapenos is more peppery then spicy. You can get "hotter" food by going to KFC and eating fiery boneless chicken wings, or eating "fire" tacos at taco bell. So the question isn't if it's "hot", because it is hotter then any other burger, but still milder then a habanero grown in paprika; the question, is it good? Yes.

It isn't super addictive like the Philly burger, but it's certainly worthy of trying to test it against your palette. For those of us who demand something to open our pores, but are tired of squeezing hot-sauce packets at lunch time, then this might just be the ticket.

In addition to the Jalapenos, it comes with Lettuce, tomato, pepper-jack cheese, and Santa-Fe sauce, (How come there is never a Greensboro sauce?) and 1/3 pound of the most important ingredient: Beef.

I never tried the Philly Cheesesteak burger and I doubt I'll try the Jalapeno Cheeseburger, although Hardee's burgers are my fav.

BTW, Greensboro sauce would be Boar & Castle sauce available in some area markets.

The jalapeno thickburger is AMAZING. It's not as good looking as their photos, of course. BUt it is tasty, with that real hamburger taste, lots of different flavors in there, and what I would call pretty mild jalapenos. It's not hot hot, or super hot as the commercials describe..unless you don't care for spicy food. Then, it's mild. But its super SUPER good. A total change from the normal burgers out there.

I tried Burger King's version a few weeks ago, and like their's real well. Yesterday I had Sonic's Jalepeno Crisp burger and it was ok. So far I like Burger King's the best, but they may have stopped making it.

I really miss the Jalapeno Thickburger.
I never cared much at all for Hardee's food until my sister brought me a Jalapeno thick burger.
That was honestly the best hamburger I have ever eaten and I have been many, many places.
I hoped and waited paitently it to come back
They have not returned. I can't understant why, you really out did yourselves with that one.
No other restaurant can even compare to a tasty hot spicy hamburger.
Still hoping and waiting patiently for it's return.

I think we saw most of these sandwiches dry up when we had that jalapeno scare in America....

I remember when BK was selling their version, one day I drove through the drive-thru on High Point Road and they had a sign saying "Jalapenos were tested safe" or something another.

This is what you do, Order a regular thickburger... which ever one is their basic burger, no ketchup no mayo, add santa fe sauce and jalapenos. I dont think they have pepper jack cheese but unless you ABSOLUTELY can't go without the cheese, its the same thing. they use their santa fe sauce for some southwest thingy they make and jalapenos i believe they usually just have on the sandwich line. that is my favorite burger of all time, so you know naturally, during pregnancy, i had to research this to see if i could work my way around the discontinued item ;)

hope this helps... i'm also patiently waiting the return...
