Declining science education

In this world, science literacy -- just a basic understanding of the principles involved -- is a serious need. Yet our country is failing to provide the needed training.

And it's interesting that this study included some "urban" schools in Charlotte. I guess we're in the "big time" now. Yippee. :cry:

I hope this isn't an issue of "science" vs. "Bible." But rather effective education vs. ignorance. It seems that there are plenty of big problems in the education system. Things that will harm us as a nation sooner or later. Already there is a shift in vitality in the realm of scientific research away from America and toward Europe and Asia. This story bodes no good at all for the future of this country's scientific community.
