Cops Shoot Dogs, Lots of Dogs

It seems to have become standard procedure these days for police to shoot and kill any dog in their area.

If you'll view some of the reports at the above linked website, you'll see that many times the cops are killing dogs of crime victims, not just those belonging to criminals.

It happened just a couple weeks ago in Winston- Salem.

Myself, I'm not overly fond of pets. I despise people who allow their dogs/ cats to run wild, intimidating people and killing wildlife. Still, I'm all for humane treatment of all creatures. If that isn't enough to cause one to be upset about the police who routinely kill pets, consider this: Rarely is a law officer charged with a crime when this happens. Consider also that police are rarely punished for shooting citizens.

That's crap, I agree... but cities and towns need to step up and pass some animal laws, and perhaps we wouldn't have to do stuff like this.

You should not be allowed to tether a dog permanently in your yard.
You should have to have your animal fixed, chipped, and vaccinated.
Animals should be on a leash in public.

The madness of people who think dogs and cats are disposable goods that they can dispose of when no longer fashionable, disgusts me.
