Venus Fly Trap

So driving home from work the other day, I had to stop at Walgreen's and pick up a few things. While waiting to check out I saw this little guy for 5.00...
Yes. A Venus fly trap. I was a tad bit worried as the lady threw him into the bag. I thought It might get mad. After all I had to keep him happy for this would be the answer to my ant problem right? As soon as I got to the car I pulled out Toto, as my son would later name him, and placed him in the cup holder to keep a close eye on him. With my only real-life knowledge of these kinda plants being the movie "Little Shop of Horrors", I knew I'd better be careful. Thankfully I made it home no worst for the wear, and the plant had yet to attack me or make a formal offer to eat my neighbors when I got home.
In fact when I got home, I handed it to my son, & my spouse that both are now ecstatic at the idea of a flesh eating plant of their very own. My son makes a plan to find "Buggies" as he calls them to feed his new little monster. Well they end up finding a spider, but the plant didn't seem hungry. So much for the big show. We finally decided it probably just wasn't ready to eat or just a picky eater. I decided to lay down some firm rules at this point. Rule number one, when the plant gets large enough to eat the cats we get rid of it. Rule number two, no musical numbers when feeding it, & number 3, don't laugh at me because it freaks me out a little bit.
