Is Charlotte (Or North Carolina for that matter) screwed?

So American just Merged with US-Air.

US-Air has a major hub in Charlotte which is sort of superfluous since, well American has DFW.

Did this merger just murder North Carolina?

10,000 jobs- Gone, overnight?

Not a good time to live in North Carolina.

I used to think American had a hub in Raleigh. Doesn't appear to be the case. Charlotte is a pretty long distance from DFW, Liv, even for jets. I think that airport is safe from cuts, but we'll see, I suppose.

Not with range of air-craft, even the smallest planes can make it to DFW.

But remember AA also has a hub in Miami, and in NY.... why would they keep US-Air's Hub in Charlotte?

Raleigh might be a Southwest hub, they took over the AA terminal when they pulled out.

My bet is Charlotte is going to go to hell in a hand basket real quick.

There's some great visuals out there.... but American is denying any closures to get the merger approved right now:

Which one would you close?

As you can see this is what makes AA an amazing company. They're smack dab in the middle.
