Google vs Jesus

Or Allah for that matter?

Christians attacking Google for their non-Easter participation cracks me up:

Google has spoiled their customer base something awful. Gotta ask why, particularly, they used Chavez, though. His birthday or something??

Google is more into education than posturing. Everyone knows it's Easter, I for one didn't know it was Chavez's birthday, or even much about him. Now I do.

It's a bit predictable that the right wing nuts get their knickers in a twist about this. Their sites happily use Google's AdSense and they studiously watch Google to see if they mention anything they disagree with - like a person from any country other than the USA (e.g. Jože Plečnik, India's 63rd Republic Day, Gioachino Rossini) or a scientist (e.g. Steno, Darwin, , or politics they don't like (e.g. International Women's Day, Earth Day.)

Chavez was against illegal immigration - he organised vigilantes on the border, and he was a Christian activist, so you'd think they'd love him, but he was a union supporter and cared about the poor so he loses out to the Easter Bunny (a socialist, handing out freebies)

They're all threatening to switch to Bing, which will please the uber-socialist Bill Gates, but then logic never was their métier.

I'll be the first one to tell you Google has went off the rails in the last few years, but I couldn't care what logo they use. Honest to God, I think Bing is doing a better job these days, and am using it more and more, not to my chagrin, but my disappointment. I used to have a lot of hope for Google, but things have went to hell with them in my opinion the last few years.

There latest debacle is getting rid of Google Reader. It sucks, and worse yet, is I now wonder if their other properties are at risk. I used to trust that the company was big enough to not make large shifts like this, but apparently they're going to nip and bite at their customer base till it's gone.

That said, while I don't care what they did on their logo, I'm smart enough to recognize it wasn't the brightest decision. How about Chavez and Jesus doing a high-five?

Such a lack of creativity these days from them.

1938

He was certainly the most influential man that year

The man was one island away from succeeding.... whatever you say about Britain, you can never call them weak.

If it hadn't been for the USA, you'd be calling them Krauts now.

True that, but they (Brits) could have just gave in.... but the didn't.

America would have been next if Britain had fell.

I doubt it. If Japan hadn't attacked at Pearl Harbor, the USA would have been perfectly happy trading with the Nazis (and vice versa)

Henry Ford and Adolph Hitler were mutual admirers and shared a very similar worldview. Much like the Tea Party today.

And today!

Honoring a German biologist. How dare they, there must be a famous American to celebrate....

Let's see ... American Rodney King was born April 2 - oh wait, he's blah.

How about Victoria Jackson, the conservative performance-art comedienne (unlike say Palin and Bachman)

So much more important than some old German biologist.

Hitler made the worst mistake of his like in the summer of 1941, in attacking Russia while Britain still stood. Had he committed his full strength to the west, Britain couldn't have held, regardless of what America might have done. Remember, until the summer of 1944, 60-70% of the Axis' military strength was committed to the East.
