Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Well maybe not exactly. Continuing with the DeLorean love theme around here (and to spite APerson) it seems someone in San Francisco wanted a "hover conversion" on his own Delorean. Since its not 2015 yet, he had no choice but to be crafty.

Pretty fun stuff! Although impressive, the creator admits it's not the first and cites this example:

He also has great ideas on utilizing "sad" DeLoreans for better use...

This got me cracking up because all I could picture was a DeLorean eating a sandwich by itself!

I admit that when the DeLorean first came out, I thought it was pretty cool. That is, until I read the review of it that Consumer Reports did of it. According to them, it was not really engineered for driver comfort or ease of operation. I think that was the point where I stopped caring so much about outside looks and being more concerned about the vital essence of a car: driver ergonomics and mechanical quality.

But why take ANY car and re-engineer it for hovering? Might as well build a hovering vehicle from the ground up.

My son had one of those. He seemed to enjoy the experience, true. But it wasn't really durable.

Didn't cost $40k either...

I saw a Monster Garage episode where they tried to make a DeLorean Hovercraft. They started off by grafting a Delorean shell onto a hovercraft which might have worked, but loudmouth stopped them and told them to make the hovercraft bit from scratch. It failed of course, one less Delorean in the world.

this guy is the Delorean fanatic and he has one that hovers about as well as a Delorean drives -underpowered, overweight and nose heavy

Love the convertible Delorean....

One day when I'm rich... I'll own one and drive it all around Europe drinking my kool-aid.
