... to a heart attack. Again. Seriously, how does this business's owner (nicknamed Dr. Jon??) manage to stay in business? Oh sure, in America there are always lots of people who will think it's a joke... or a challenge. And sadly there are plenty of people who ignore the insane, self-destructive nature of the place's ambiance and patronize it for the sheer pleasure of eating stuff that WILL kill them.

I just think this guy would see the damage his place is doing, the deaths and real life heart attacks people are having IN HIS SEATS, and feel at least a little guilt over making a living from it. Seriously, it's NOT funny, in any way. Shuut down the death factory and dedicate the rest of your life to urging people to live longer than bloody 50 years by getting some exercise and staying away from places like this.

You do have to wonder about their social responsibility here and if there is some liability, since even bars will "shut you off" if they think you're past the point of risking your or others' health.

You've answered your own question. I'm sure his business will go up as a result of this publicity.

There are plenty of fat people with low self esteem who can't or won't give up their addiction to food and have chosen to celebrate it and 'go out happy' - suicide by fork beats suicide by cop, at least they only kill themselves

Damnit, I've put on over 8 lbs since before Christmas. New job, stress, expense account meals and less opportunity for exercise. Gotta do something about it. Sold my house though - got two buyers in a bidding contest and got more than I was asking. Wahoo, now I have to buy a new one and maybe I can stop living out of a suitcase

I've gained 10LB back since coming back to the States.

Even the air here has more calories.

I put it on in Europe. Copious pints of real cask ale and good food will do that

Yeah, but you're still in that nostalgic period.... getting all your favs. I guess I kind am too.

But gosh I miss the Durum shop near my house in Brussels.
