John Barrowman- Hottest man alive?

by Serendipitous | Published on November 24th, 2008, 8:50 am | Arts
Watched a couple of Torchwood episodes last night. If you really care to know, they were "They Keep Killing Suzie" and "Random Shoes" from series 1.

Of course, SOMEONE (not gonna mention Liv's name here) came to mind because I still don't think she's figured out what I was getting at, that was established about Jack in the first episode (when I responded to her comment about who may be dead in series 3...)

Regardless, it's a great show. Definitely a nice break from most of the crap the USA throws out there.

Oh, now I've got to go back and rent disc 1... crap... Actually didn't really pay attention the first time around... It takes to the middle of season 1 to get a grip on the concept...

For the record I finished Dr Who Season 1....

Why apologize?

BBC sorry after John Barrowman exposed himself

Dec 1 2008 WalesOnline

The BBC has apologised and admitted today that a live radio show during which TV star John Barrowman exposed himself “overstepped the mark”.

Barrowman, who lives in Cardiff Bay, performed the act during an interview on Radio 1’s Switch show yesterday evening, after being prompted on the subject.

The incident comes in the wake of the investigation into the prank phone calls made to Andrew Sachs by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, for Brand’s Radio 2 show.

Following the BBC Trust report into the incident, BBC management said 10 days ago that it was “determined to act on the lessons learnt from this incident, in particular to reinforce adherence to the BBC’s compliance systems.

“This will be a major priority within the BBC’s audio and music division.”

During yesterday’s show, presented by Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac, Grimshaw asked Barrowman, who has starred in Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood: “You’re famous, we’re told for getting your willy out in interviews.

“Is this going to happen today?”

Barrowman responded by saying he was going to “get it out”, amid shouting and laughter.

He was later heard to say: “I didn’t take the whole thing out, but I got my fruit and nuts out.”

Annie Mac apologised on air at the end of the programme for any offence that may have been caused.

The BBC emphasised that nothing untoward was screened online.

A BBC spokeswoman confirmed that one complaint had been received.

She said: “We do feel that the programme overstepped the mark.

“We acknowledge this and apologised at the end of the live programme.”

He said "I have your Torchwood right here!"

I liked his initiation of "emergency protocol 417" at the end of "The Doctor Dances". I use that one myself from time to time and its exactly how I'd like to go out. :D

Yes, but do you have your local bartender programmed in on your cell under that for voice recognition so you can impress your co-workers?

I suppose we'll just have to take their word for it.

I guess it would be too much hearing his dick swish though the air, humming like a light sabre.

Day two at the BBC...

okay gang... I've got to tell you... I was 5 feet from JOHN BARROWMAN!!!! OMFG!!!! Like maybe SFI doesn't believe in coincidences... but err.... then again I shared the same pavement with the man...

Okay this is how it went down... So I'm standing in the big circle the "round-about" in the middle of the question mark... yes... The BBC Television Centre is in the shape of a question mark... (little trivia for you)... and I'm staring at the center fountain... now no longer a fountain when John Freaking Barrowman walks behind me, and my chaperone states "oh there's John Barrowman"....

Suddenly Liv is speechless, her world is in slow motion... her bottom jaw is drops like paint dripping down the wall.... and in my brain now half way dealing with the lack of oxygen from not breathing... is telling myself to scream... do something.... Come on "Liv"!!!! No words would come out... by the time I could get my body to signal my muscles to do something.... John... was gone and on to his dressing room....

I felt like a school girl...

But then again... out of 9 million people in London... I was one of them who got to feel the breeze of John Barrowman walk by....

So besides that... The BBC is an amazing place... They've taken an approach similar to my suggestions I made to local media in Greensboro about combined news rooms encompassing different media types and made it work beautifully here.... (Really cool to see something I recommended to John Robinson in action over here.) Today the studio was prepping for Red Nose Day 09 which is this huge charity event... tons of British girls were lined up at the gates to catch their favorite celebrity enter the gates.... It was kind of neat to walk past all that and through security....

Luckily they had a Tardis handy for me to get super silly with.... and embarrass myself... as did they a lovely BBC store where I got the kids a sonic screwdriver... oddly... you can't access the store just walking on the street... you actually have to find a way into the studio to access the store....

I happened to procure a handy Torchwood 2009 calendar with John Barrowman on the cover.... I held it tight as I walked back tonight... somewhere along the way... it hit me... today might have been the best day of my life.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second,it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

We're still talking about it... it was freaking incredible... Seriously.... what are the freaking chances? I mean... me, the worlds #1 John Barrowman fan... happening to be in London visiting the studios at precisely the moment he's there...

More incredible is I happen to be standing by the door he enters at exactly the same moment he is on the way in...

If only I could have gotten him back to the hotel...

Then coming back tomorrow night, and then our flight is out on Tuesday back to the states... :(

So I've been thinking. There's a few posts I meant to make after returning from London and Cardiff I never got to make, so I thought I'd make them today. One is all my John Barrowman paraphernalia I was able to purchase. Most of you are shaking your head at this point, but deal with it... The "God doesn't/does exist debate" thread count far out numbers the small amount of "John Barrowman is God" post count by a huge number....

So John Barrowman Goodie #1:

Torchwood Calendar, and oh yes.. April is a great month. Best yet, the it goes perfectly with my newly finished cupboards. Okay.... technically they're still in process.... but it make it so much more enjoyable to work on them now with John in the Kitchen. It's just going to be a sad day when May rolls around.

John Barrowman Goodie #2:

Torchwood poster. Like the calander we picked both this up at the Doctor Who exhibition in Cardiff. I've yet to get a frame for this, or decided exactly where to put it.... so it stays wrapped up, safely kept in the closet.

John Barrowman Goodie #3:

Torchwood yearbook. Seems a bit goofy, but it's actually a detailed behind the scenes production book with really great color pictures and detailed interviews with the cast of Torchwood. I particularly liked how John indicated a great deal of fear about bringing the show stateside with our conservative views and his pride at being an openly gay man playing an omnisexual who is loved both in America and the U.K. It was good reading material for our two hour train ride back to London sitting in a fluorescent lit carriage.

I don't think I've seen a television show other then Lost in High Definition that is more deserving of the Blu-ray format than Torchwood. I can't wait for July when Season 2 hits Blu-ray.... Till then I can show the kids all the places we visited while actually in Cardiff, and catch up on all the nuances I've missed when I originally rented it on DVD a year ago.

Oh it's awesome... It means so much more to me now that I've been though... Cardiff being so small, it's funny how I can watch the show now and say... "Hey that's the bathroom in the shopping complex!"

Oh yeah....

If I had the money, I'd be on a flight the day it shows on BBC...

I'm so excited....

I've seen several interviews from the crew that have said Beeb pulled out all the stops... that it's nothing short of cinematic....

I'm just curious about the lag time on it hitting the US via legal means.

Just finished watching, the making of me.... Very good watch if you get a chance (homework for the weekend kiddies!!!) this weekend.... John goes in search of why he's gay and through science (OMG!!! John... Science... it's like two of my favorite things!!!) discovers what he knew all along....

... that he needs to dump Scott for me... :D .... No.... that he's gay, and there's nothing he could do about it....

Which has really got to upset the BHL squad.... because it only took John Barrowman to debunk your beliefs...

Barrowman seeks to answer the question: why am I the way I am? In this one-hour special, Barrowman sets out to unearth what the latest scientific research can tell him about the origins of his homosexuality.

His search for evidence takes him back to his roots to meet family and old friends. He also meets with psychologists and geneticists, compares his DNA to his heterosexual brother's, and conquers his claustrophobia to undergo a brain scan - all in the quest to find out how nature and nurture might have interacted to make him who he is.

Barrowman tells the BBC: "My sexuality has never been deliberately hidden. I'm in a committed relationship with the love of my life, Scott Gill, and he is as much a part of the family as my sister's husband, Kevin, and my brother's wife, Dot. However, just because I'm comfortable with my sexuality doesn't mean that I'm not curious about it and that's one of the reasons I agreed to take this journey to discover the making of me."

John Barrowman set to play villain in Desperate Housewives

John Barrowman is heading to Hollywood to play the 'bad guy' on TV hit Desperate Housewives.
The Torchwood and Dr Who star will guest star in several episodes on the long-running show about the goings on in fictional Wisteria Lane.
Barrowman, 42, will fly to Los Angeles early March to film with Desperate Housewives leading ladies Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker.
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry is keeping the plotlines involving Barrowman secret.
However, The Daily Mail can reveal that he will be the show's main villain in the last section of the current season, series six.
The show returned to British TV this week but has been running in the U.S. for months.
Episodes featuring Barrowman will be broadcast in the America later in the Spring and around May/ June in the UK.
Executive producer Cherry met with Barrowman last week after watching him in episodes of Torchwood.
He was very taken by Barrowman's Captain Jack Harkness character.
While he's in LA Barrowman will meet up with old friend Russell T .Davies.
Dr Who and Torchwood Writer Davies has been working in LA writing a Torchwood series for America's Fox TV. It will be a co-production between Fox and BBC TV.
Casting is way off. Barrowman will just being saying 'Hi' to Davies, not asking to be cast in the U.S. Torchwood.

Meanwhile, Barrowman has a new album out March 1 featuring songs from musicals including You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel..
Later in the year Barrowman hopes to do a second season of Tonight's the Night for the BBC.
The singer-actor had recorded the part of Raoul for the concept album of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical Love Never Dies.
However, the composer decided to re-orchestrate his score and re-record the record. Barrowman wasn't available to re-record and by that time Joseph Millson had been cast to play Raoul so he did the new version of the album.
