The Bog Legacy

I imagine the depth of the Bog is less than a couple feet these days.
The Bourne Legacy: my review here, after a garbage burger at Five Guy's a walk through Bog, and then downtown for some cheesecake. Can someone please dredge the Bog Gardens?

It used to be a nice place, still is, but climate change and lack of maintenance has taken a toll on the pond. A poor turtle gasped for air among the sludge. A "sand-bar" which appeared about 10 years ago, is now over grown with 20 foot trees. Perhaps this is a sign of the economy, but Greensboro's gem is slowly evaporating, literally.

This "island" was never there in the 90s, it was submerged.

Overall great last night out in  before my plane out on Sunday.

What I really want to know is what is this?

It looks like a sea cucumber, or a inflated sexual part. What is it?
